An Cruiscin Lan

Sleep for a while my love,
With memories of mountains and sea
Fresh in your troubled mind,
Dream of Ard Na Breatha
And the cliffs we've left behind
Pay no heed to the traffic
Or the selfish whims of men,
Lame from fast machines,
Dream of Ardara and Killybegs
And the patchwork of lowland greens
Wake when your soul has rested
And the lines are gone from your head,
When I have written this scanty
Verse from the beer and wine,
Wake when the rain has stopped pouring
And the sun is preparing to shine.
